Keleti Railway Station

The eclectic building of Keleti railway station was opened in 1881. At the time of its construction, it was one of the most modern stations in Europe. Its enormous waiting hall opened by an arcade is adjoined by additional wings, the iron-structured hall is located behind it. Its main facade is richly decorated with paintings and sculptures, the statues of James Watt and George Stephenson are standing in its niches. In Baross square in front of the building, an enormous underpass and a bridge spanning the square were built. The station was renovated in recent years.
